Fletching is the fin-shaped aerodynamic stabilization device attached to arrows, typically made from feathers. The name Fletchling is fletching plus fledgling. This bird is named after arrow parts.

The Japanese name spells it out: ya means arrow, komadori means Japanese robin. The name is literally arrow robin. Robin Hood is an archer.
